Didn't really got a chance to play damned 1 since the game was dead by the time i found out about the game and had no monster AI which i thought was a shame cause i really like procedural coop horror games but here we are, haven't played much yet but like it so far, great atmosphere, runs really well and looks like replayability won't be a problem at all for now.

Damned 2 keeps all that made Damned awesome (controls to open doors or drawers, the scary atmosphere, the fun monsters, etc.), but gets rids of the bugs, brings more variability in the gameplay, an actual UI, ....
