You basically need inhuman reflexes to hit every note correctly, and you can’t really play a song without learning it beforehand, at least not on hard mode.
What worked for me (I think) is play around with the graphics settings, removing unused audio devices from windows device manager, and pressing 'escape' whilst it is trying to connect to anything.
