What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
The Campaign is basically a very long tutorial that culminates in a final showdown to test everything you've learned (satisfyingly so, I had to restart twice for the finale on normal).
I have no idea what the devs intend to do but I'd love to see some enemy Humus and gods - the story probably isn't going to be everyone's favorite, but I thought it was a clever, albeit a little predictable at times, take on the afterlife and the progression of civilization and all that.
It's rare that I don't immediately shove the music slider down to 10% in a game but the soundtrack hit really well with me.
Sintopia is a great optimisation puzzle game with a wonderfully charming art style and a (generally) enjoyable gameplay loop.
You could probably crunch through it in 20 hours or fewer if you were trying to go fast, but the nature of the loop is a slow and steady uphill optimization that, aside from your purchased upgrades, resets each stage.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. 2 more themes were each raised by fewer than 6 sampled reviews and are not shown.
