The gameplay itself is solid , there are multiple levels with different themes, the weapons have upgraded forms and synergize with different party members who grant different types of buffs like added projectiles or bigger melee range , more combo hits along with buffs to damage and the main stats for that type of attack.

Add to this an absolutely adorable styling that sees the main menu envisaged as a sort of "Nintendo Power"-esque hints and tips magazine on the very game you're playing, plus a cute little minidisk player that functions as your soundtrack choice for the run (with further unlockable minidisks available in game!), and honestly I can't recommend this enough.

Aside from the visuals the music is also amazing , with a mix of different electronic music that can either lend the game a chill experience with Drum and Bass , Trance and House or a more up tempo Electropop track that sets the mood for slaying a bunch of monsters.

Veterans of the genre might find it a bit on the easy side, but there is an expert difficulty that will help out there.

In a nice touch, you can see everything there is to be unlocked in your "Secrets" menu, as well as how to unlock them (available both from the title menu and from the pause menu).
