good mix of zombie panic \ zombie maps from counterstrike with player zombies + cod zombies with level progression and interactive map elements. the carnival map has some performance issues but so far this is easily a few hours of entertainment. features progression with unlockable weapons, perks and skins. there are dedicated servers. the gore \ dismemberment is pretty satisfying, heads pop, rags doll quite well, arms get blown off, lots of red mist, screaming. nothing really stands out as "jank" or "broken". the menus are nice and feature just about everything you need. as much as I tried to cheese the zombies and stand in weird spots they seemed to path to me with ease. zombies also move to intercept you at times so they dont just chase directly after you. my first game was in the metro and I spawned as a zombie because some dude was already in the game running a round as a survivor but it was a pvp server so I was supposed to kill him and I did so. next round he died pretty quick or was chosen as a zombie however that works so he spent a long time widdling me down until I also died. then the map changed to oilrig which seemed super small but thats when i learned you could pay to unlock doors and my teammate who stuck around was nice enough to not attack me as a zombie and would crouch repeatedly at useful things I knew nothing about like panels that activated turrets and other traps. we played together again on carnival and that was kind of weird because the map is so much larger and a bit more laggy than the others with intense fog atmosphere which is kind of cool and probably necessary for it to look half decent and still keep the impending dread of possible zombies anywhere anytime but anyways I eventually just ran back to the parking lot and ran in circles for 3 minutes until the survival timer elapsed and the survivors won. i understand if there were a player zombie that would have been different but it felt kind of cheap like either the map or player stamina \ speed or zombie speed needs to be adjusted so you cant just run away forever. missed speaking about it before but zombies have unique abilities, the npc zombies will only explode depending on what zombie they are but player zombies can explode + vomit + throw their meat?

didnt figure this one out myself just saw some other player zombie doing it and they can also enable zombie vision to see stuff through walls or something. if I had any money I would buy the pig mask at least to show my support but the least I can do is counter a lot of the needless negativity from other reviews as it is far from warranted. read some of them and you can quickly gather how much ignorance is involved. its also unity and not unreal so it kind of runs good and isn't filled with all the unreal baggage like hideous default menus and really poor graphics settings because its too hard for most developers to properly link various settings and their levels to specific commands and their values so most dont even bother or don't have the settings really do anything. this game captures the feeling of facing an overwhelming horde as you are absolutely mowing them down but the sheer number will leave you repeatedly backing up or changing position. should also receive some props for supporting not 16, not 32 but 64 players. all the skins, models, animation and whatever is pretty good but no idea if that is purchased assets.
