The two main things that make this game stand out are the character stats and economy, all characters have stats like Strength, Agility, Luck, etc, that affect various gameplay elements, you can upgrade these as you level up getting bigger bonuses for reaching 50% and 100% in each stat.
There are a few unusual design choices (like the interface), but they are easy enough to understand and don't cause me problems.
