What players think
The recurring themes across 213 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
Each duel feels synchronized with the music, turning gameplay into a kind of performance where sight and sound intertwine to form a distinct aesthetic experience.
I would recommend the game, it's fun, it really is and I still think it keeps most of the feeling of the original here especially since the story is still told with no words and the combat even though it's more arcadey still has that action movie feeling.
The hand-painted visuals, fluid animation, and carefully composed soundtrack blend seamlessly into a coherent artistic vision that makes every short moment resonate.
It does a good job of slowly and smoothly increasing the difficulty without it seeming jarring.
The soundtrack, composed by Christopher Tin, enriches this artistic vision with orchestral melodies and percussive cues that rise and fall with the rhythm of combat.
