The unquestionably best weapons were gated behind a paywall, unless you wanted to go for expensive time-limited rentals, so you had to constantly keep farming currency to keep up, but at least it was possible.

Still too much P2W, but the gameplay is fun, played this game for more than 7000 hours before it went on steam, had to pay a good amount of money to be relevent in game
