R-Type Tactics I • II Cosmos

Cosmos is an excellent facelift of R-Type Tactics 1 and 2, with enhanced graphics, some backporting of features added in RTT2 to RTT1 (voice-acting for intermissions, an adjutant NPC, start a mission with ships in a carrier, etc), and overall smoother gameplay.

I'll be fully honest, as someone that had played and was thoroughly traumatised by the original games as a kid, then revisiting them on and off over the years because apparently putting my balls through a cheese grater once wasn't enough, I am glad that finally I can do it all over again, this time with way better graphics, all in one title, and most importantly, MnK control.

Definitely worth the purchase if you have an interest in the R-Type series as you get a substantial amount of story and worldbuilding, all while fighting familiar enemies in a far different context since this is a turn-based tactics game.

Addition of adjutants and voice acting to RTT1 is a welcome surprise.
