I felt at the time that its character interactions paled in comparison to Tales of Symphonia; that it didn't do nearly so much with its islands-in-the-sky setting as Skies of Arcadia Legends; even Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door had better world-building, as well as much sharper dialogue.
These two games feature an amazingly fun and unique Turn-based battle system (Baten Kaitos) and ATB-style system (Origins) combined with a card battler, have an amazing soundtrack composed by Motoi Sakuraba (also known for doing soundtracks for the "Tales of" games and "Dark Souls"), and beautiful pre-rendered backgrounds.
+Even better soundtrack, still solid visuals.
The gameplay, with its card battle mechanic, is quite innovative, but the fact that cards are constantly ageing as you play, might frustrate some players.
Controller Icons are for XBOX, mouse and keyboard are supported, but there are no icons unfortunately.
Runs buttery smooth on the steam deck as well.
