What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
The Stick of Truth has so much fan service and references to South Park characters and lore that make this a must play for any fan of South Park.
The gameplay is traditional turn based RPG very similar to Paper Mario where you have to time your attacks to perform combo's, get status boosts and do more damage and just like Paper Mario you gain new companions the further you progress in the story.
The combat is surprisingly fun, the story is ridiculous in the best possible way, and every time I thought, "There's no way they're going to do that," the game immediately did it and somehow made it even more insane.
The visuals perfectly recreate the art style, the writing feels authentic, and nearly every location, character, item, and side quest contains a reference or joke for longtime fans.
The voice acting, music and characters are accurate to the show and are all top notch i especially enjoyed the companions during battles.
Kick back, relax, grab your controller and enjoy the ride.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. 3 more themes were each raised by fewer than 6 sampled reviews and are not shown.
