What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
Each set of levels gets a different color scheme and vibe, livening up the already strong SNES-like visuals.
The audio design reinforces this sense of charm and focus.
The publisher always brings out little gems that offer a fun little taste of Rareware-esque SNES / N64 gameplay, and I'm an incredibly big fan of all their entries.
It's incredibly fun to complete the levels, enjoy a small but neat story, and to beat the best time of each level.
However, it's entirely worth your dollar because the art and music, obviously inspired by Donkey Kong Country, are gorgeous, the difficulty (although the actual difficulty is braindead) is well-paced, and there are plenty of surprising moments.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
No themes split opinion in this sample.
No recurring complaints surfaced in this sample.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. One more theme was raised by fewer than 6 sampled reviews and is not shown.
