The pixel art style is great, the animations are fluid, the colorful level backgrounds contrast nicely to the monochromatic foreground, the Lovecraftian theming is on-point, the cutscenes are well-done, the collectibles are fun to hunt down, the bonus levels are fun and creative, the music is decent, and it's so satisfying to kick enemies into sawblades and fill the screen with gore... but it can be hard to focus on the positives when everything else in the game is causing you stress.
