What players think
The recurring themes across 162 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
Story, art, music selection, combat, puzzles, locations, bosses - all amazing.
Normal gameplay when this was happening wasn't so bad, actually made it way easier lol, but cutscenes were not only twice the length, the music that was designed to line up with cutscenes now ended way too early and didn't matchup at all.
I have played a ♥♥♥♥ ton of games in my life since the original NES, I can safely say that this game was one of the best I've ever played, gameplay is so simple yet so diverse and smart, the pacing is right on point, the difficulty is enough to make you want to get better.
the choice of OST is also great, some of the tracks inspired me to look up some of the games this was inspired by, like the MACventure games and such.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
No recurring complaints surfaced in this sample.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. 2 more themes were each raised by fewer than 4 sampled reviews and are not shown.
