Batman™: Arkham Origins

The story as said previously really did nothing for me in the first 1/3, the Penguin is a cool guy but he didn't really do anything to hold my attention, then the main villain rocks up and the story really just comes to life and the cutscenes, environments and set pieces also go up in quality.

The gameplay is flexible and entertaining, granting the player the satisfaction of playing as a hardcore vigilante and an unseen predator; the gadgets are quite enjoyable as well (though the restriction of one gadget in the dlc felt really unnecessary).

Other than a weak open world and technical issues the fundamental combat, gadgets and stealth all feel on par with City so it's solid as ever and a fun time to breeze through.

Gotham covered in snow during Christmas gives the game its own identity instead of feeling like "more Arkham City." The music, the lighting, and the overall tone make it feel darker and more grounded.

The Christmas theme, the soundtrack, the dialogue, and the overall tone make this entry stand out.

Loved the arkham series for years, primarily play on steam deck and game continues to run well for its age and the graphics are impressive for a almost 13 year old game with a great story and fluid feeling gameplay
