What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
Lots of replayability with many different builds and characters, all viable.
The number of options to tweak your runs each time makes this game feel truly boundless - you've got the 30+ starting characters, each with their own starting equipment/stats and skills that remain useful from the start of the run to the end, the Mastery Perk tree that lets you handcraft your experience, influencing things like loot drop chances, when and where shops will appear, the likelihood of mimics showing up and how many, etc etc etc, and the Cinder modifiers that sort of act as an Ascension system for those familiar with Slay the Spire, there really is a functionally infinite number of ways to just START your run, never mind the amount of variation IN each run.
Well, this certainly isn't the sort of game that's trying to wow you with ridiculous visuals.
The retro charm, the banger soundtrack, the absurd build variety—it all conspires to remind you why we keep loading these digital labyrinths.
And that was my experience on the Steam Deck, which is considerably less powerful than your average gaming PC

Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
No recurring complaints surfaced in this sample.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway.
