While I mention below that a gamepad is the preferred method of control, when in VR definitely use a HOTAS if you've got it.
The visuals and physics are superbly done giving you a real sense of low-G flight while keeping the controls very straight-forward.
Does anyone want to play multiplayer?
Well, unfortunately, beyond the very solid and challenging flight mechanics, there's not a lot of depth in gameplay.
It can also be easily switched to a clean HUD with toggleable GUI screens, quickly configurable by buttons; or to a 3D cockpit.
I have found the experience of undertaking missions on the moon/mars on my 27" monitor combined with the superbly appropriate audio track totally mesmerising... for space fans this is a truly awesome game.
