Roots of Yggdrasil

Between each of the housings being better suited to a different play styles, as well as the scions each having unique abilities that are more or less useful with certain modifiers or challenges, there's a LOT of potential for different builds and strategies to reach the gate of Asgard and "win" a loop.

Solid and inspired story BUT it’s a slow boil and a bit dry.

+Satisfying and well-balanced core game: before adding difficulty modifiers, it is possible to 'beat' a loop even without any meta-progression bonuses; just like in a game like Hades.

I'm not playing this for the lore, but I do think the art style and overall fantasy theme is fun.

The gameplay loop is very addictive and fun, the soundtrack is compelling, the characters endearing and the world-building, while relatively simplistic, is charming.
