Resident Evil 4

This game has a singleplayer mode with a linear story and a semi-open map where you can backtrack to look for stuff.

The gameplay is fun, music is good, and the game looks great.

The combat is really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fun in this game when you get the handle of it, The guns and knife are incredibly fun to use, I also like the management mechanics which make you change up what you use and how you play if you want to not be constantly out of bullets.

For example, Village’s color filter changes depending on the time of day, and if the game happens to think that you have to experience a very dark and hollow corridor, the lighting goes away in a very gentle, unnoticeable manner.

The attention to detail is astonishing: most of the ways you could have cheesed your fights in the original game got nerfed (hello there Village Tower), the game’s audio has perfect design in a way that the sounds of crafting ammo or parrying an attack buzz your ears in a very specific, comfy way, and the sound of a chainsaw or your knife breaking will put you in panic mode almost instantly.

This game ran at 60 fps with mid-low settings while still looking really good, greatly optimized game like most RE engine games.
