What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
Research tree doesn't really exist (you research spells but there lacks a clear progression path towards a research victory); the research also does not strengthen your units, only buildings do.
The reason I mention it is that I purchased it hoping to play another game just like this one (with more content, better graphics, and no memory leak), originally thinking it was by the same developers (it's not), but it hasn't been nearly as easy to pick up and play or nearly as enjoyable as this game so far.
The game offers a variety of modes including a single-player campaign, skirmishes, and multiplayer, catering to different play preferences.
The graphics, music, sounds effects, and gameplay all perfectly complement each other, and they don't get old even after hours of gameplay.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. One more theme was raised by fewer than 6 sampled reviews and is not shown.
