Dokimon Quest

Its story is also very well written, even for the ridiculous haymaker it gives you as the story picks up the pace from cutesy to serious.

While I do not believe Dokimon's combat excels that far above any other creature collector's really, I do think it has great QOL compared to its contemporaries, leading to an overall smoother gameplay experience.

It seems to do a good job fitting retro graphics through I personally preferred the more modern look of other pokemon clones like Nexomon or Coromon.

It has some quality-of-life improvements with text speed, running, no HMs, difficulty options, repeatable and stronger adversaries, different save slots, an easy-to-use computer, and other settings.

Turn-based combat is intentionally approachable and will be immediately recognizable to anyone familiar with traditional monster-catching RPGs.

The soundtrack also fits the atmosphere nicely, combining 8-bit sounds with piano.
