What players think
The recurring themes across 240 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
Each of the crumbling palace setting's environments are jam-packed with beautiful detail, and the classically-animated characters (particularly the bosses) looked incredible.
Ugly is very reminiscent of Braid in many aspects, not the least of which is its beautiful hand-drawn art style.
Playability & Replayability
I knew from the very first introduction of the tense, discordant strings into the otherwise ethereally tinkling piano of the game's opening song that the soundtrack was going to be a banger.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
No recurring complaints surfaced in this sample.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. 3 more themes were each raised by fewer than 5 sampled reviews and are not shown.
