was fun for a while, the fire visuals, the island atmosphere is great but the gameplay is ruined with being forced to play a certain type of helplessness that ultimately ruins the long term enjoyment of the game beyond 10-20 hours. useful loot that is dreadfully nonexistant without restarting for a good start by searching beach chests and hoping to get all of a bag, knife, musket, pistol, and bottle. enjoy 5 torches in a row or two bags and 2 gem chests plus a book you can't store because you only have two hands as starting inventory until A; find the pistol holster that the game doesn't tell where it is or anything about it, or B; get a bag for storage. for most of your starts though. waste of time, all in all trying to either restart for a good start, or wasting time not being able to use equipment you unlocked but can't get. because it doesn't spawn, so you waste 10 minutes again and again.
story is kinda hit or miss. nice to see more than just some random dude's future and see his past but to make it apart of the tutorial is lame.
The custom mode may aleviate some issues but i didn't buy this for a cozy beach vacation. grab mechanics need work, and still full of poor optimization or high poly junk. games have had the ability to move flora via the character for decades, and thats a 1.0 feature, lmao. no thanks, maybe i'll be the sole survivor of a shipwreck again sometime soon, after fixes and more content.
- Good sound design and music
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. One more theme was raised by fewer than 6 sampled reviews and is not shown.
