What players think
The recurring themes across 72 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
The art is gorgeous, the animation is incredibly effective, and the writing is the perfect balance of realistic and poetic.
I also loved the technical stuff: animating characters' sprites so they move on the screen combined the silent-movie-frame-style background is such a strong visual choice, as were the different graphics for the textbox UI (I thought I was going insane when I first noticed it was different but it depends on personality/previous choices!).
There are lots of CGs, a varied soundtrack, and a references section that explains how to pronounce certain words.
Replayability is off the charts; I've spent 12 hours in here at time of writing this review and I still have so much left to explore.
