Like I have to be objective and think of the standard for games of this genre... maybe the best part is goofy voice lines made me chuckle a few times and the unique mechanic of choosing magic words in a various combos for spells makes you feel like a wizard... but get it on sale and hopefully find a good Youtube playthrough for the inevitable times you get stuck.
It gets even better with the voice acting, as the echoing and crackling audio are just right.
Despite the cheesy nature of the game which I personally enjoyed, there are some weird pockets of a good narrative there as well, I thought the whole "flesh" chapter was very enjoyable, almost felt like playing a different game, even a bit spooky.
The in-game graphics are mostly spot on, but the cutscenes probably needed to be half the resolution they are, or less, to look more accurate.
The difficulty level is intentionally unforgiving, and that harshness becomes both a strength and a weakness.
