What players think
The recurring themes across 78 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
The gameplay itself is a satisfying loop of balancing various resources against one another, and planning ahead to make sure your city’s morale doesn’t plummet.
But most important and relevant is the roguelite mode where you progress through a campaign map, building wonders every now and then.
TL;DR: Vertical Kingdom is a charming city builder with gorgeous pixelart graphics and a unique premise.
The sound effects (clinking coins, the sound of flipping through cards/papers, placing down buildings and so on) are particularly good.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway.
