Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart

Even though this was my first experience with the franchise, I didn’t feel lost at all, the story stands well on its own and is engaging enough to keep you invested throughout.

It reminds me of the first game, and more recently, EA's Star Wars Jedi games, where the story takes you across multiple planets where new weapons, gear, customisation and secrets are just waiting to be found between great set pieces and tough battles.

With modern controllers offering so many inputs, the combat in this game is really satisfying.

Video game graphics really improved a lot in the past two decades.

Looks great with pretty consistent performance, maybe some frame drops here and there but that's nothing too crazy.

There's a lot of high-quality character animations, intricately designed worlds, an epic soundtrack and top voice talent (including an utterly unhinged Richard Horvitz performance) on display here.
