Once Upon A KATAMARI

Outside of the gameplay, the games offer an amazing soundtrack, incredibly charming visuals (levels are often scattered with lots of silly and comical things), and a story that makes you smile with a wide cast of quirky characters.

I'm not the biggest enjoyer of the more pop OST for the levels compared to the more quircky katamari-ie music of the previous games but the actual instrumental tracks and stuff that plays in menus, loading screens, over world and everywhere else is genuinely pretty great.

It features several different eras instead of few time periods like the previous entries, though each era only has 4 or 5 missions at most, they have several different versions of themselves too sometimes for added difficulty and fun.

Competitive multiplayer is the best it's been, especially being online, though I am sad that We Love Katamari's co-op is missing.

The unique classic art style, the humor, the lovable characters, the silly physics, ahhhh.

It runs great on steam deck but it is a bit power hungry (I play at capped 60 with TPD at 10, I copied the settings from one of the protondb posts and it works pretty well).
