There is a semi hidden Easy Mode and an unlockable Hard Mode, so plenty of replayability!

The story is interesting, it creates a lore that will be used for this game's sequel.

The graphics use pixel art to paint a retro dark fantasy look for the levels as well as the sprites which end up being very reminiscent of the GBA era of Castlevania games; however, the sprites have no faces which is quite eerie to look at.

From its very first moments, it wears its Castlevania inspiration proudly on its sleeve, with everything from its whip-based combat and eerie soundtrack to its grim setting echoing the spirit of Konami’s classic series.

I admit I saw the metroidvania sequel coming out and that's what got me to play this, the concept is a rather interesting mix of using the typical Vlad the impaler but also mixing in a few twists in there along with the idea of alchemy being a thing and part of your arsenal (sub weapons) dood.
