The writing is pretty good but the devs valued brevity--lore lovers, don't expect pages and pages of flavor text--and this was a good design decision.
I had a fun 10 hours cruising through it because I enjoyed the setting and art and was looking for a mindlessness gameplay loop.
Very glad I purchased it :) Art style for one is gorgeous, and I believe its all hand drawn as well.
