What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
Great characters and dialogue.
It has elements of Metroid and Castlevania style exploration, it draws heavily from the Souls style of combat, thematically it has Zelda-esque levels of wonder and mystery in the world-building, and it is charming in its use of sparse dialogue and the RetroWave graphics.
Hidden gem right here, the fact that one man made this game is incredible, hes managed to capture the feeling of dark souls 1 but as a pixel game, in the sense of difficulty, the mystery of exploring going on a adventure in one direction and finding 3 other branching paths along the way and getting lost in the most beautiful way, bosses are awesome, sound design is great, character and weapons have weight and impact, so much cool loot, fun NPCs, the map has so many areas and small details, kudos to the DEV you are a total G!!
If you ever decide to fix this, maybe put them on right side so you never have to scroll or remember the pictures, or having some fast way to cycle them blindly. (played on keyboard, can't speak for controller)
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. One more theme was raised by fewer than 6 sampled reviews and is not shown.
