One particular moment, when you ascend and reach a new scenario is particularly jarring, and I honestly found myself ready to put it down and never play again because the gameplay was changed at that moment in such a way that I wasn't sure if I could still enjoy the game after getting addicted to the previous gameplay and loop until that point, only to have it ripped away from me.
