What players think
The recurring themes across 192 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
Also, if silly 1950’s sci-fi B movie stuff makes you laugh, the intentionally hokey movie scenes shown in Unstoppable Gorg’s story mode makes this game worth a play through anyhow.
Unstoppable Gorg, developed and published by Futuremark, is a clever and stylish reimagining of the tower defense genre that blends retro science fiction aesthetics with inventive gameplay mechanics.
I can't say that the graphics are ground breaking, or that they particularly help to create an exciting new visual universe to immerse yourself in.
The soundtrack reinforces the retro mood with a mix of space-age orchestration and pulpy sci-fi motifs that could easily fit in a 1950s adventure serial.
The combination of black-and-white live-action sequences, stylized comic-book art, and the clean design of its orbital interface creates a perfect balance between nostalgia and functionality.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
No themes split opinion in this sample.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. 2 more themes were each raised by fewer than 4 sampled reviews and are not shown.
