The Plague Doctor of Wippra

The doctor’s character was the only real strong point in the story, and we learnt of his compassion, devotion and his willingness to put his patient’s needs above the law.

*The Mechanics:* At first it was a little complicated trying to understand how the puzzles work and how to interact with stuff, but after some time you get it down, and it is fun trying to interact with everything and thinking about what to combine.

Visually, the game employs a minimalist pixel-art style that serves its narrative well.

On a more positive note, I thought the game handled the music really well, not just the choice of songs, but also using silence when it was needed, even the ambient sound effects made it uneasy to play.

The story and dialogue work well, and the puzzles are nicely balanced: neither too easy nor too brain-melting (though... I did check a guide once).

The game also features my favourite inventory item in a point and click game, ever.
