What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
The atmosphere is odd, but pleasing to look at, and the writing is well done.
The gameplay is great and the story parodies HP Lovecraft themes as well as has it's own style in that it merges the early teens to thirties Lovecraftian times with a just right pinch of steampunk; pulled off so well that I, as someone who gags at having steampunk genre things forced at me constantly, actually enjoyed the elements of the genre in this game.
The art style is charming and fits the atmosphere of the game perfectly.
Sound- Music is nicely done but does not really stand out and the game sound effects work well but are fairly standard.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
No recurring complaints surfaced in this sample.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. 4 more themes were each raised by fewer than 6 sampled reviews and are not shown.
