battle network 3: has the best story in the series, delving into heavy topics and emotional peaks that Mega Man RPGs wouldn't reach again until Star Force. thanks to features like the Navi Customizer allowing more options than ever before. there are some issues with excessive backtracking and having to reorganize said navi customizer a lot can be annoying, but this is still the best game in Volume 1.
You play as a schoolboy named Lan, who sends Mega Man into the internet or local networks (dungeons) through various electronic devices where most of the meaningful gameplay happens.
The music is still a banger and has a great art style.
You can change languages in the option menu on the same save, which can be nice for those learning Japanese and/or Chinese.
Isometric pixel style with a memorable soundtrack.
