There is a decent amount of backtracking to do once you get items that let you through different obstacles and barriers, giving a good sense of progression.
This was a fun and surprisingly deep GameBoy style Metroidvania with a steep learning curve.
The presentation is good, simple and clean, and each area of the map has its own palette and visual effects to modify the GameBoy-type graphics.
This game is a surprisingly deep and in many ways excellent gameboy-style metroidvania, with cool weapons, lots of levels and secrets.
Aesthetically its simple design works in its favour: a simple palette change makes quite a different tone and atmosphere for a new area (along with the quirky ost).
