What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
Rusted Moss is a game that pretty much drops its player into the story with very little in the way of explanation.
✔️ A myriad of optional challenges, multiple endings, a level editor, and speedrun support offer decent replayability.
The game with its unique, if stressful, controls comes packaged in a fairly retro looking pixel art style that draws clear inspiration from Japanese cartoons and animation.
✔️ Fantastic presentation thanks to detailed and expressive artwork and an immersive soundtrack; the dialogue, while sparse, feels appropriate for the characters and the overall theme of the more mythological portrayal of the Fae.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
No recurring complaints surfaced in this sample.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. 3 more themes were each raised by fewer than 6 sampled reviews and are not shown.
