What players think
The recurring themes across 228 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
The positive aspects are quick to describe: the graphics and animations are great, most of the music tracks are really good, the sound effects are average, and the controls work well enough.
+ Fun progression, while the game doesn't innovate all that much per-say (you get stuff like a hookshot/boomerang for example), it definitely make every powerup unique in their own way and interesting, leading to a semi-open world progression that lead me to question what was gonna be up next, which is good !
+ The soundtrack is a bop, most of the tracks really fit the vibe, my favorite songs being the final dungeon and the bonus dungeon (that one in particular is one i've listened a LOT, pure banger) , the OST really nails the old-school chiptune .
Its biggest positive is that playing it doesn't involve constantly going into the menu to adjust your equipment like too many other zeldalikes have you do.
Worked really well on steamdeck with only a few screens that had frame drops (once again the developer is looking into it) The fact that we get a full nonogram release as a bonus to the main game is icing on the cake.
Facing direction is important because that's the direction you swing in (I had to mod this too, I used a real SNES controller to play this!)
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. One more theme was raised by fewer than 5 sampled reviews and is not shown.
