And that's kind of the whole thing, is that the interaction in this game didn't add anything to the experience, you could've just as well made a short animated film that depicted the same story and it'd have the same impact, if you can even call this a 'story'.
The art style and effects (especially post FX) are expertly done, and some of the sequences are really well stylized and give off very strong "creepy found-VHS tape" vibes, but at the end of the day the gameplay is pretty atrocious. 90% of the game you spend just holding W and watching a movie basically, walking straight forward.
Further, the minimalist sound design focused on ambient noise and rounded out with understated background music helps set the atmosphere and give each room a unique feeling.
There are a lot of moments with flashing lights that you can't skip, switch off in the menu or something like that.
