The game starts out with you being able to fully customize the appearance of the main character, male or female, abilities, and background story.
A Lot Of Textures (ALOT) 14.1 (vanilla-friendly, exhaustive and easy to install graphical overhaul mod; designed to work with MEUITM).
While not an overly long game (one complete playthrough, i.e. all side quests etc. will probably take 35-40 hours), the replayability factor is very high - particularly due to the choices/avenues in the game as well as the "classes" present.
The alien locations, the soundtrack, and the dialogue all create an atmosphere that pulls you in even when the visuals show their age.
I didn’t play with a controller, as I am more interested in being more precise with my aim than anything else to be honest.
