Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series

The final boss in the first game was a real highlight for me, as was Polonte the Hatchling from the second game, both gameplay and narrative wise.

A lot is done with just these two game mechanics, allowing Klonoa to jump off enemies he grabs with his wind bullets, as well as throw them into the fore/background to hit objects he cannot otherwise reach.

The remade graphics look really nice and remain faithful to their original artistic vision, with the FMV cutscenes redone in-engine.

They start off easy in the early game, but quickly ramp up in difficulty as you progress and they all test your skills in very different ways, making each one feel unique.

There's no voice acting, instead the characters speak in their own language that sounds very convincing and believable, adding to the immersion.

The collection also features quality-of-life improvements like updated save systems and a streamlined user interface, allowing players to focus on the adventure without unnecessary frustration.
