Blade of Darkness

You will immediately notice besides the dark fantasy theme is that Blade of Darkness has a very cool and bloody decapitation system for such an old game where you can cut off parts of an enemy even use the body parts as melee weapons or even a throwable object all with great physics!

No multiplayer/co-op for this game but that's fine the 4 classes gives a good bunch of replayability.

The art style are that of what you can expect of a European realistic dark fantasy with such the visuals do still hold up to this day nicely especially with the HD upgrade the game retains that art style but looks a lot better without changing anything too drastically.

Each level is self contained but progressive via a map, so there is a continuity between levels as there is purpose for you being there due to the story tying nicely with each location and is well explained by the well voice-acted narration.

Each of the four playable characters is distinct from the others and feels unique enough to justify playing again with one you haven’t used before.

The soundtrack is great too, the mission map menu track is the best theme while the other tracks are atmospheric enough to keep you engaged immersed then those other tracks are just simply so uniquely different.
