On top of it all, the card designs are fantastic and the soundtrack is a damn banger too.
The different « agents » (playable characters) are also unique and come with their own specific skill sets that are loads of fun to learn and experiment with.
NK relies on its gameplay mechanics as the bulk of its entertainment.
The pixel graphics are great and fit the 80's vibe as well.
By the way, it plays like a dream on the Steam Deck – I can get around 5 hours of projected battery life on 30fps, so if you’re looking for a battery sipper that scratches the deckbuilding itch, this is it.
An official controller layout would also be an extremely welcome addition, since I love being able to switch between controller and mouse and keyboard layouts on the fly (Tainted Grail does this very well, for example).
