I'd also recommend this for couples who want to play a bit every night and enjoy the story as there are a good amount of accessibility options in terms of hints/help and you can also disable all of them if you like which I did and I think is worth doing since you can always turn them back on if you get stuck.

As always, the artwork is bright, colourful and absolutely gorgeous, the background music is so lovely and fun (you wouldn't mind hearing it on repeat), and the voice acting is incredible.

While MM maintains the style of its predecessors, the Devs have refreshed the game by introducing 3D model animations to explain certain scenes, have made the game mechanics more balanced and engaging, and also increased the number of puzzles (you know... some were quite challenging... thanks guides drafters!) without being frustrating.

Visually, The Mermaid Mask remains immediately recognizable thanks to its hand-painted art style.

A gorgeous little game with a pretty artstyle, impactful character design enhanced with animation and voice acting, a solid soundtrack.

In lesser puzzle games or visual novels of the same ilk the puzzles can drag down the game heavily, but Mermaid Mask did not have any duds, every puzzle was engaging, not too hard or too easy and always fun to solve.
