Most of the interesting characters are adults anyway.
- This is not a game, this is at most a visual novel, of my 150 hours playtrough maybe 20% tops is actual gameplay
Persona 5 is often considered one of the pinnacles of modern JRPGs and i swear to god i have no idea why, the game starts promising enough with amazing anime visuals, a good story hook and a banger of a soundtrack but by the time you have completed your third palace you have seen everything the "game" has to offer leaving the players with 90 more hours of interminable cutscene, 0 player agency, mundane farming in that slop that is the mementos "dungeon" and Persona fusions to one shot your next overly easy encounter.
The art style is pretty okay, and the anime-style cutscenes were well done, but the screen is constantly full of unnecessary junk.
From the get-go, you are hit in the face with STYLE out the wazoo, the main menu is of the main characters scattered about the famous Shibuya Crossing and as you select each option, the camera dynamically pans over to each section with unique animations of the characters moving into place.
I also highly recommend playing this game on Steam Deck.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. 3 more themes were each raised by fewer than 6 sampled reviews and are not shown.
