Platforming is a large part of the gameplay and it's okay for FPS platforming.
It is a gameplay philosophy that encourages curiosity and adds long-term progression to what might otherwise be a straightforward shooter.
This is a very creative, great game that is very much a hidden gem- probably because the graphics and music are kind of "meh."
The story is nonsensical in the way a good 90s game should be.
Despite its mid-’90s origins, the atmosphere remains striking, supported by a soundtrack that mixes Egyptian influences with rock undertones and dramatic percussion.
It is a little unfair to criticise Powerslave for this though, as this was designed for a Saturn controller at an optimistic 30 FPS, not 144FPS with a mouse and keyboard.
