The achievements are interesting and come with rewarding unlocks of new heroes, and the factions, while a clear hat tip to HoMaM, are distinct, have their own unique mechanics, and are rewarding enough to warrant diversification more than a lot of grand strategy games manage to achieve (looking at literally any games whose core populace mechanics directly oppose one another and force xenophobia).
