True, Hunt the Night’s premise borrows heavily from its Soulsy predecessors, and the game’s story elements feel overly familiar as a consequence.
Hunt the Night is an altogether solid 2D action RPG, and while it gets all the fundamentals right and even excels beyond expectations when it comes to its atmosphere, the general gameplay and pacing end up feeling lackluster.
✔️ Phenomenal sound design and remarkable attention to detail in the environment make HtN a surprisingly immersive experience.
