Everything also maintains value without any sort of depreciation mechanic, including the room walls and buildings themselves, so there's no consequences for changing your mind or continuously readjusting.

I also really enjoy the blocky, bright, stylized cartoon look of the graphics, especially compared to the pretty realistic look most modern 3D sims opt for, and I imagine it's part of what makes the game so performance-friendly while running what feels like a pretty expansive real-time simulation.
